BACKGROUND

The Gaspé shipyard, originally known as "Gaspé Shipbuilding Inc.", has been in operation since 1952. Since 1991, it has operated under the name "Chantier Naval Forillon inc." with a team renowned for its competence and dynamism.

Although it has a new name, the vocation of the Gaspé shipyard has remained unchanged and we continue to build and repair fishing vessels.

Over the years our team has acquired enviable expertise in the repair of ships of various types including tugs, patrol vessels, catamarans, etc. Our geographic location in the Gulf of St. Lawrence also gives us the opportunity to work on ocean vessels that visit the Sandy Beach commercial wharf in Gaspé.

At Chantier Naval Forillon inc., the shops and facilities, including a "Crandall"-type railway, are among the best equipped in Québec for the construction and repair of vessels with a displacement of up to 800 tons.

Our team includes 30 employees specialized in ares as diverse as welding, mechanics, hydraulics, sand blasting, painting, carpentry, fiberglass, electricity, etc. Moreover, our computed assisted design service can be used to draw up plans for boat building of modification. We use the latest version of "Autoship" program to draw up precise plans for each project. The professional quality of our services have earned us the appreciation of clients in both the private and public sectors.

At Chantier Naval Forillon inc., our goal is to deliver a quality product to each client within the prescribed time limit and we are proud of our accomplishements.
